Shown here with her son Phillip and Melba Newsome, at a FAMM conference, Dorithy served six years of a 19 year.sentence for drug conspiracy before having her sentence commuted by former President Clinton. Melba Newsome (a writer for Essence, Redbook, Vibe and other national publications) was instrumental in moving for Dorithy's release and return to her young children.

Shown here with his lovely wife, Michael served four years of a 30-year mandatory sentence. Michael was pending a new trial after a victory on appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Michael was at home with his wife and children, awaiting the new trial.
