During the 30th Annual Conference and Training Institute of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, AdvoCare was able to participate in the National Interfaith Task Force on Mentoring Children of Prisoners.
This Tack Force brought by the National Black Church Task Force Initiative on Crime and Criminal Justice and convened by the National Religious Affairs Association, the faith- and community-based affiliate of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, has begun major steps towards strengthening partnerships and services in this area and other areas.
As part of AdvoCare's commitment to the goals of the Task Force, we have structured suggestion legislation to assist in identify the numbers of children with one or more incarcerated parent, as well as the geographic areas with the largest populations of these children. |
